New anonymous baby box installed at Roswell Fire Department

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Roswell is the latest New Mexico city to install a baby box. The box was blessed at a ceremony Wednesday morning at the Roswell Fire Department.

This is the sixth baby box in the state and the 200th nationwide. “This box is now available for women in the community, and beyond. This box offers no shame, no blame, and no names,” said Monica Kelsey, founder and CEO of Safe Haven Baby Boxes.

Coincidentally, the baby box in Belen was used to drop off an infant over the weekend. That box was installed last October.
