“While this is an exciting time for our clinic, it is important that we do not sacrifice patient care during the three-month renovation project. Therefore, we will move to a Telehealth model for existing patients to ensure our patients’ medical needs are being met throughout the remodel,” said Executive Director Mike Conaway.

The Healing Bridge Clinic, now in its 15th year of serving the uninsured and underserved in the community, chose Meja Construction for the project. Meja anticipates a completion date of mid- to late-May. During that time, the clinic will not accept new patients. Once the renovation is complete, however, Conaway anticipates doubling or tripling the clinic’s current patient base.

“What’s amazing about the remodel is that, despite the fact we are not expanding our footprint

in our current building at 215 Willowbend Road, we will be able to expand our exam rooms from two to 10,” Conaway said. “We will also be able to better our process for patient registration, lab work, and overall care for our patients.”

The Healing Bridge Clinic provided $1.7 million of free health care to the community in 2023. The majority of the clinic’s patients were from Coweta and Fayette counties at 41 percent and 33 percent respectively.
