By the time Kayla Lewis and the other 13 recruits in the #40 Recruit Class of the Roswell Fire Department attended their graduation ceremony on Jan. 26 at the convention center, Lewis had been on the job for a couple of months.
Lewis’ fire academy training was shorter than many of the other recruits in the class because she’s a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). She had been an EMT with Superior Ambulance Service, then American Medical Response, before transitioning to fire service.
