Picutring the day—UFO Museum Statue | Local News

by Fulton Watch News Feed

This artwork stands outside of the International UFO Museum & Research Center on North Main Street. The piece is titled “Mac Brazel & Debris Field” and is a representation of the moment in the summer of 1947 when this rancher, who while working on his land about 80 miles outside of Roswell, came across a site where it appeared some sort of flying object had crashed. Reports about the object varied and included an initial report from the Roswell Army Air Field stated that the debris came from a UFO, which this piece of art represents. The military later recanted the story as described the debris as that of a weather balloon. There are other theories about “The Roswell Incident”: Speculation continues and questions remain about what actually happened on that property. The museum contains a vast collection of materials and artwork related to UFOs and Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs), and welcomed its five-millionth visitor in November.
