There were other adults present at Johnston’s Mount Vernon Road home, and they provided the victim alcohol, according to court testimony.

The victim became heavily intoxicated and eventually passed out. When the victim regained consciousness, she found herself in Johnston’s bedroom with different clothes on.

She felt sore, had bruises on her body, and had vomited on herself, according to a news release of the case from the District Attorney’s Office.

The victim then overheard Johnston telling someone over the phone that the victim had gotten drunk, and he had intercourse with her, according to testimony.

The victim texted a friend to contact her grandmother to come pick her up.

The victim’s grandmother took her to the hospital where the medical staff conducted a sexual assault exam.

After the examination, law enforcement was called.

Evidence collected during the examination was tested by the GBI and determined to match Johnston’s DNA.

According to a news release, the jury also heard from the victim’s sister who had also been victimized by Johnston.

The sister testified that Johnston sexually assaulted her a year before this incident.

She testified that Johnston gave her a Xanax and a drink that she later suspected was laced with drugs. She testified that when she became impaired, he took her to the bedroom and sexually assaulted her.
