One dead in South Roswell crash | Local News

Todd Wildermuth, the public information officer with the Roswell Police Department, said the deceased was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crews from the Roswell Fire Department extracted the other woman from the wreckage. She was taken to an area hospital with severe injuries.

Wildermuth said police and fire crews responded at about 1:10 p.m. to the crash in the 4600 block of South Main Street that happened when the vehicle, which was traveling south on Main Street, left the road, veered onto the median and struck a tree.

The accident has prompted the closure of a portion of South Main Street between Monksdale and Mountainview Roads while police investigate the crash.
