The abuse started to come to light in late October of 2022, when the victim told her mother that Rogers was abusing her.

The child said that Rogers manipulating her and insisted that she keep quiet and not tell anyone of the abuse, according to a news release for the District Attorney’s Office.

After telling her mother she didn’t want to be left alone with Rogers, the mother started asking questions that led the child to tell of the rapes, according to news release.

The child described Rogers climbing on top of her and “grinding”, according to the release.

The child described further details of these assaults occurred on multiple occasions. An arrest warrant had Rogers listed as 6-feet-4 and 215 pounds.

Upon learning this devastating news, the mother kicked the defendant out of the home and changed the locks.

A few days after the daughter told her mother of the incidents, the child fell asleep at school.

After arriving at the school, the mother told school officials about the abuse incidents, and law enforcement was called in to investigate.

The child was forensically interviewed, and told law enforcement about the repeated rapes.

On a particularly telling occasion, Rogers offered to buy the child anything she wanted, if she did not tell anyone about the abuse, according to the news release.

The child then asked Rogers to get her a favorite juice drink to which he responded he would, but she was going to have to do something with him to get it.

During the investigation, Rogers admitted to the telling the victims not to tell anyone because he feared getting in trouble.
