Firefighters made an aggressive offensive attack on the fire, which was under control within 15 minutes, according to Battalion Chief Damon Rosser.

A three station response with 16 personnel responding made it possible to quickly extinguish the fire, Rosser said.

The residents were able to exit the home before firefighters arrived. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters or occupants. However, three house cats reportedly succumbed to smoke inhalation, according to Rosser.

The fire reportedly started in the rear bedroom, but the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No firefighters or residents were injured, Rosser said.

The residents have been displaced, but arrangements have been made for housing.
