Former ASU football player killed in Atlanta shooting

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – A former Albany State University football player was shot and killed following a dispute at an Atlanta apartment complex last Wednesday.

According to Dekalb Police, shortly before 3 p.m. on February 28, officers responded to the scene and found Treyvon Vallery, 25, dead from a gunshot wound.

Police say that Vallery and his girlfriend Nina Shaw, 25, were arguing when she called her father Royricas Shaw, 47, to the location. Treyvon and Royricas then began arguing and Shaw eventually shot Vallery. Nina Shaw was also reported to have shot at the victim.

Both suspects were arrested on murder charges. Treyvon previously played for the Albany State Rams as a running back.
