Celebrated Irish tenor Emmet Cahill brings the sounds of the Emerald Isle to the Carrollton Center for the Arts, March 21.
“March would not be complete without some great Irish music to help celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day,” said Carrollton Center for the Arts Manager Tim Chapman. “Emmet Cahill has had sold out performances at New York’s Carnegie Hall and appeared on The Today Show, at New York’s Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and Atlanta Symphony Hall.”
Cahill, star of the PBS phenomenon, Celtic Thunder, embodies a passion for vocal performances that allow audiences to connect with their most cherished memories through beautiful songs like Danny Boy, When Irish Eyes are Smiling and My Wild Irish Rose. In 2013, he was voted Tenor of the Year by The Irish Music Association in the US.
The 33-year-old world music singer was born in Ireland. He received a five-year Schola Cantorum at his secondary school to study classical singing and received further classical training from the Royal Irish Academy of Music.He joined Celtic Thunder shortly following his graduation from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2010. He has since toured both as a group member and as a solo artist. In 2015, he contributed to Celtic Thunder’s album Mythology.
