The project is currently called the 141 South project, and the developer goes by the same name but uses a Jeff Lindsey Communities email address.

The property totals 152.1 acres, and developers will need to seek annexation into Senoia as well as rezoning, according to an article by Urbanize Atlanta. Today, the property straddles Senoia’s city limits and unincorporated Coweta County.

According to Senoia’s Mayor Dub Pearman, the city has little involvement in this property at this point.

“The only thing we’ve done so far is give the developers our blessing to seek annexation from the county,” said Pearman.

Plans for the site got out to Senoia Facebook groups, like Senoia Locals and Senoia Neighbors, and caused some panic among citizens, leading them to pack the city council meeting on March 4.

Members of the Facebook groups began rumors stating the property would become a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants. Pearman addressed the rumors head-on before the floor opened up to the public.

“I have to dispel any rumors that there’s any intent of creating a sanctuary city in Senoia,” said Pearman. “A, that is illegal and B, nobody has even discussed it.”

The site plans that were spreading throughout Senoia Facebook groups showed the 152.1-acre property being zoned for Commercial/ Mixed Use, Dense Residential and Less Dense Residential. Projecting 658 units of condos and townhomes could be built on the property.
