Driver, 16, Charged In Forsyth Co. Police Chase That Injured Multiple

CUMMING, GA — A 16-year-old Gainesville boy is facing several charges after authorities say he led police on a chase, hitting the vehicles of other drivers and injuring them Thursday on GA 400.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy stopped a silver Dodge Durango around 3:30 p.m. for a traffic violation, and as the deputy was approaching the vehicle, the teenage boy sped away from the scene.

The deputy chased the Durango, being joined by additional deputies. Stop sticks were laid, and GA 400 was closed, authorities said.

During the chase, authorities said the boy hit other vehicles, causing multiple injuries. The boy was not identified, and the extent of injuries is unknown.

  • Reckless driving
  • Felony fleeing and attempting to elude
  • Speeding
  • Theft by receiving stolen firearm
  • Possession of a firearm during commission of a felony
  • Underage possession of a pistol
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Possession of THC with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a schedule I (LSD) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of drug-related object
  • Diving on limited permit

The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team investigated the incident.
