Georgia to gain 39K jobs from IRA-induced clean energy projects

by Fulton Watch News Feed

The federal Inflation Reduction Act, signed in August 2022, is estimated to boost Georgia’s economy and clean energy efforts by offering incentives for clean tech companies to innovate and manufacture in the U.S.

Researchers tracked 19 Georgia clean energy and electric vehicle projects launched between August 2022-August 2023, predicting 38,600 jobs would be created over a five-year period during construction and an additional 6,800 jobs annually after.

Georgia’s Gross State Product (GSP) is projected to increase by $13.9 billion during construction and $926.5 million annually during the project’s operational life, with electric vehicle factories delivering the biggest economic benefits.
