“I had been anxiously following the updates on the GaDOE Facebook page, and to receive this recognition is truly humbling and gratifying,” Taylor said.

The Georgia Teacher of the Year serves as an ambassador for education, representing Georgia at national conferences and speaking engagements.

The recipient is selected based on various attributes — including being a certified public school classroom teacher with a valid and current Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) Professional or Advanced/Lead Professional certificate in prekindergarten through Grade 12.

Taylor, with her exceptional dedication and knowledge, embodies these qualities, serving as a full-time classroom teacher, a CCPS press release stated.

“We are immensely proud of Ms. Taylor’s accomplishment and what it signifies for her career and the Clayton County Public Schools District,” Clayton County School Superintendent Anthony W. Smith said. “Her dedication and excellence in teaching exemplify the values we strive to instill in our educators, and her selection as a finalist for the Georgia Teacher of the Year is a testament to her outstanding contributions to our school community.”
