Sandy Creek cadets join Read Across America

by Fulton Watch News Feed

Burch Elementary got a visit from some high-flying friends when Sandy Creek High’s Air Force JROTC cadets shared good books with them for National Read Across America Day.

A total of 19 cadets from the Air Force JROTC unit visited their neighboring school to read age-appropriate books to 10 classrooms. The cadets were exciting and engaging as they read to the younger students.

The Air Force JROTC program is under the direction of Major Willie Bohles.

“I witnessed my cadets have a sense of importance and influence within their community,” said Major Bohles. “I believe they have developed a sense of higher value within themselves and understanding that they have the ability to make a positive difference in the lives of others.”
