“It could be financial assistance, parental help, mental health referral, relationship advice, or people moving here and needing information on where to turn to address a specific need,” Sparks said. “We want to cover a multitude of things, anything that will increase the effectiveness of the family.”

The first meeting will take place Tuesday, March 26, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., in the Douglasville Police Department Community Room, 2083 Fairburn Road.

Social services providers from several agencies will be present to describe their services and assist people who may need them.

Representatives from SHARE House will be on hand to talk about domestic violence and direct those who need assistance. Someone from Tallatoona CAP (Community Action Partnership) will explain their mission, which — according to their website — is “to help low-income individuals and families acquire useful skills and knowledge that lead to more and greater opportunities to achieve economic self-sufficiency.”

Two professionals, Alice Jackson (Catalyst for Change) and Tara Nichols (Nichols Center) will address parenting and mental health issues.

Others may also be available to discuss city and county resources of which people may not be aware.
