One of Peachtree City’s four-legged law enforcement officers played a role in a drug arrest this week.
Police stopped a Ford F-150 March 21 on Paschall Road near Huddleston Road for traffic violations. K9 Drako was sent into action during the search of the vehicle. The suspect was found to be trafficking about 4.5 ounces of methamphetamine, according to the report.
Jessica Elliott, 36, of Newnan was arrested and taken to the Fayette County Jail. In addition to a felony drug count, she was charged with possession/use of drug-related objects, marijuana possession, failure to maintain lane and a seat belt violation.
Elsewhere in Peachtree City, officers conducted a traffic stop March 20 on a red Honda Civic on Hwy. 54 near Market Place Blvd. The investigation revealed that one of the occupants — Tylik Culpepper, 26, of LaGrange — was a convicted felon for criminal street gang activity and was in possession of a stolen firearm out of Gwinnett County. The other — Justin Marshall, 25, of LaGrange — “was also knowingly in constructive possession of the stolen firearm,” according to the report.
Both were also in possession of credit cards belonging to victims of identity theft “with the intent to further defraud the victims,” police said.
Both were taken to Fayette County Jail and held for warrants.
