The Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum is one of only four museums in the United States to host the Quilts Japan: 16th Annual Quilt Nihon exhibition, which will be on display at 306 Bradley St in Carrollton through June 22.
The Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum is the exclusive Southeastern host for this celebrated exhibition, which premiered at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum before traveling internationally. It features the most extraordinary and innovative works from the biennial competition of the Japanese Handicraft Instructors’ Association, which sponsors the largest international quilt contest in Japan and one of the most prestigious in the world. This year’s Quilt Nihon Exhibition features 50 award-winning works, including traditional and modern quilts along with 13 entries from the competition’s newest category, miniature quilts.
