Ruben R. Sanchez Sr., 71, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in Roswell, NM. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Ruben’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.
There will be a visitation at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on April 4 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Services will start at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Tim officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery, then reception immediately after at 702 W. Hobbs St.
On April 13, 1952, Ruben Sanchez was born to Luz and Simona Sanchez in Carlsbad, NM. He attended Carlsbad High School, where he graduated. He was the beloved husband of Maria Amparo Sanchez, whom he married on January 16, 1982, in Roswell, NM. Prior to retirement, Ruben worked as a Foreman for the City of Roswell. He loved to ride motorcycles, watch alien documentaries, astronomy, coin collecting, model trains, singing mariachi music, playing the guitar, and spending time with friends and family. We have many memories of our dad in our home, such as dancing in the living room, playing board/card games together, and family movie nights. He was a prominent part of our childhood, our rock and stability. He was the glue that brought our family and extended family together, teaching us what matters.
Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Ruben are his children, Ruben Sanchez Jr. and wife Larissa, Eric Sanchez, Monica Ramirez and husband, Andrew; grandchildren, Arturo “Artie” Benavidez, Nyah Sanchez, Izaya Sanchez, Zayden Sanchez, Kiara Ramirez, Ezekiel Ramirez and Elianna Amparo Ramirez; three sisters: Maria Sanchez, Virginia Sanchez Mendoza, and Ofelia Young; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
