Brady didn’t give any specific reason for her resignation in her letter. Attempts to reach her for comment in time for this article were unsuccessful.

“I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you and wish you all continued perseverance and wisdom shepherding our sweet Senoia,” Brady wrote in her resignation letter.

Brady’s seat will remain vacant until a special election can be held to fill Brady’s unexpired term.

Typically the city tries to join other elections that are already taking place, said Senoia Mayor Dub Pearman. The cost of a separate election can cost anywhere from $6,000 to $10,000.

Pearman said every member of the council will have to step up to replace the work that Brady did with the community.

“Anytime we needed someone to jump in and help, (Brady) was there,” said Pearman. “She was a hard worker.”

Brady moved to Senoia in 2014 from New York City. According to a 2021 Newnan Times-Herald article, Brady said she has always felt drawn to the South and knew she would move here someday.

She was reading an issue of “Southern Living,” and the Southern Living Idea House in Senoia was on the cover, Brady said. There was also a story about Zac Brown’s Southern Ground, and she decided she needed to know more about Senoia, she said.

Before she joined the city council, Brady was involved with the Housing Authority and several non profit organizations, like My Father’s House, according to Pearman.

Brady joined the council in 2020 to fill the unexpired term of Dub Pearman, who resigned from his council seat to run for mayor, filling the unexpired term of Jeff Fisher. Both Brady and Pearman were unopposed.
