The possibility of the Roswell Air Center becoming the venue for the National Championship Air Races and Air Show next year prompted a discussion by members of the Roswell Airport Advisory Commission. It centered on how the airport could modify the terminal area so crowds of visitors can efficiently and comfortably make their way in and out of the city during that event, if Roswell is chosen.
The Reno Air Racing Association (RARA) is expected to announce by the end of April whether Roswell or the other two finalists — Pueblo, Colorado, or Casper, Wyoming — will host the air races, which resume in 2025 after an air show without racing would mark the event’s 60th anniversary later this year in Reno.
