Santiago Zavala Flores, 41, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Santiago’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.
There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John’s Church on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
On January 2, 1983, Santiago was born to his father, Eliseo Zavala Rodriguez and mother, Maria Guadalupe Zavala in Roswell, New Mexico.
Prior to his passing, Santiago worked at Wakefield Oil for more than twenty years, his kind personality led him to meet a lot of his friends there. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed staying home and watching boxing, baseball, and soccer. His favorite soccer team was Las Chivas. He played soccer for Mesa Middle School and Roswell High School. On the weekends, Santiago liked to do cookouts with his family and liked going to the casino. He loved to visit family in Guanajuato, Mexico, and come back home and tell his parents and siblings about his trips. Santiago was the most selfless person we knew, he always put others before himself without expecting anything in return. These last couple of years were hard for him but he would still help anyone he could with a smile on his face.
Santiago will be missed by his family and friends.
Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Santiago are his parents: Eliseo Zavala Rodriguez and Maria Guadalupe Zavala; siblings: Jose G.
