Westlake Ace Hardware to host dog adoption event | Local News

by Fulton Watch News Feed

Westlake Ace Hardware, 2810D N. Main St., will host a dog adoption event on April 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Rob Tynes, Westlake Ace Hardware general manager, said the event will include a proclamation by Roswell Mayor Timothy Jennings declaring April 27 to be “Roswell Adoption Day,” and visitors can see and adopt animals from Roswell Animal Services.

During the event, the store will offer giveaways, including treats for dogs, and two-legged visitors will be able to enjoy barbecue samples.

In addition, Micah Pampurred Paws will offer grooming services at the event, with 50% of proceeds going to Roswell Animal Services and the Roswell Humane Society. Tynes said the store is working to have a veterinarian on site to provide microchipping of animals.

According to Tynes, the store is hosting the event to help relieve overcrowding at local animal shelters and to promote pet adoption as well as responsible pet ownership, including having pets spayed, neutered and registered with local animal control agencies.

This is the first time Westlake Ace Hardware has hosted such an event, Tynes said.

“We feel there is a need for people to adopt dogs,” Tynes said.

Tynes said he would like to encourage everyone to come and take a look at the pets available for adoption.

“We definitely want to promote spay and neuter as well as registering pets with the city,” Tynes said.
