Clayton County Water Authority Honors Science Fair Winners | News

For 25 years, CCWA has provided judges to the Clayton County Regional Science & Engineering Fair held every February.

During the fair, CCWA staff served as judges selecting outstanding water-related projects.

“We are extremely proud of these students for their water-centric projects and their research into topics also studied by water professionals,” said CCWA Chief Operating Officer Keisha L. Thorpe. “We hope their projects peak their interest in water, opening the door to future careers as water professionals.”

Anderson Elementary’s Jabari Daniel, Christian Moss and Alexander Williams won on the topic of “World Saving Systems: How can you make rain water safe for humans?”

This winning project team also competed at the Georgia College K-5 Science and Engineering Fair. 

North Clayton High’s Mekhi Cunningham and Oluwatimileyin Idowu won on the topic of “What products can we create to help those affected by disaster?”

“This project was innovative and has potential for future development,” a statement from CCWA read.

Elite Scholars Academy’s Kyleigh Conley won on the topic of “The Impact of Fertilizer on pH and Dissolved Oxygen.”

Jonesboro High’s Stephanie Ezenne won on the topic of “Determining the Most Effective Ratio for Water Filtration.”

Both Conley and Ezenne will compete in the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair in Athens in April and the International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles in May.
