SweetWater 420 Fest ‘returns to roots’ with free admission and lineup change

by Fulton Watch News Feed

SweetWater Brewing announced significant changes to this year’s SweetWater 420 Fest, including an updated lineup and an entirely free concert — with a $10 donation to its nonprofit partner, the Waterkeeper Alliance. The festival will still be held at Pullman Yards on April 20 and 21, and ticketholders who paid the original fee of $245 will be refunded.

Due to lagging advance sales, festival organizers made the decision to scale back and make a return to what the festival originally stood for in its beginning, “both musically and as a a contributor to the community we all share,” a 420 Fest representative said in a press release from April 5.

Beck, Black Pumas and Slightly Stoopid are no longer on the two-day festival lineup, but bands like Big Gigantic, Gov’t Mule and Grace Potter will still be bringing the good vibes to the stage. “The lineup focuses on those killer jams you could hear coming out of the brewery during its early days,” the 420 Fest representative shared.

“We’ve thought a lot about the direction of SweetWater 420 Fest and decided to add a hefty dose of eco-awareness and grassroots energy back into this amazing party, which will be the rager it’s always been,” said Ty Gilmore, President of U.S. Beers for Tilray Brands.

“SweetWater 420 Fest started as a free Earth Day bash, and that inspired us to reimagine this year’s event with a single-stage format, a lineup that taps into the festival’s jam and groove roots, and a significant charitable component to help the environment,” Gilmore added. “It’s a win-win for everyone: our fans can see some of our favorite bands in a uniquely intimate setting for a modest donation and collectively support the Waterkeeper Alliance’s crucial work to keep our rivers and oceans clean and healthy.”

Artists-By-Day includes:
