Art collection of John and Sue Wieland, centered around domestic space, on view soon at the High – WABE

Approaching Atlanta’s High Museum of Art, you see a painted sculpture of a house that may well bring a smile. It is a work by the artist Roy Lichtenstein titled “House III.”

It was a gift from John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods to honor its company members. Mr. Wieland has said, “Home is so much more than sticks and bricks.”

The sentiment is expressed in over 400 ways in the extensive contemporary art collection of John and Sue Wieland, a body of work centered around the theme of domestic space.

The collection is now on display in a newly renovated 39,000-square-foot gallery called The Warehouse. The Warehouse and its collection open to the public on April 13.
