The Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the expansion of one of its members, iCare Child Development Center, with a ribbon tying ceremony on Thursday.

The owners of iCare Child Development Center Lauren and Donte Davis have opened a second location in Stephens County, the new one is at 57 Stephen Drive, in Toccoa.

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen says a ribbon tying is symbolic of a community coming around a new business in support of the services that business provides.

Lauren Davis says this is her fifth child development center overall and her second location in Toccoa-Stephens County.

“Thank you City of Toccoa, it’s an honor and a pleasure to continue to be able to invest in Toccoa-Stephens County. Our first location is at 1760 Currahee Street, which we opened back in October of 2022. We purchased Precious Minutes and now here, at the end of February, we’ve expanded iCare Toccoa to Stephen Drive. We’re so happy to be here,” she said.

She says iCare Child Development Center started in her home 12 years ago.

“We are continuing to expand in the neighborhood. Like I said, I started off as an in-home daycare provider. I have grown over the last 12 years to five locations. It is a pleasure to continue to offer quality childcare here in Toccoa. There is such a need here for quality childcare. We do have space available We’re open Monday through Friday from 7a.m. to 6 p.m.,” she said.
