Congratulations to district attorney’s office –

by Fulton Watch News Feed

DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston recently announced that her office has been awarded a $500,000 grant to help fund a three-year Missing and Unidentified Human Remains Program that will focus on identifying the remains of as many as 27 individuals whose bodies were found in DeKalb County but whose identities have yet to be determined.

According to Boston, the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office is the only prosecutor’s office in the nation to be awarded the grant.

Not only do we commend the efforts of Boston and her staff, but we also offer encouragement to families and friends of missing persons that perhaps a renewed emphasis on identifying remains may provide closure to what in many cases have been unsolved missing persons cases for as many as 30 years.

We hope that the new task force will be successful in identifying the remains of missing persons as well as identifying and prosecuting those responsible when certain deaths were due to accidents or foul play.
