Five people injured in Decatur club shooting –

The DeKalb County Police Department’s Homicide and Assault Unit is investigating a shooting that left five people injured. According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on June 18.

A video clip shared on social media showed patrons running from Cosmopolitan Premier Lounge, located at 4525 Glenwood Road in Decatur, after shots were fired inside the club.

Police said a dispute allegedly occurred as patrons were leaving the club, escalating into gunfire, and resulting in five individuals receiving gunshot wounds. All injured victims, who were not named by police, were transported to local hospitals and remained in stable condition, stated officials.

On the morning of June 19, police provided an update stating that four of the five victims who were transported to area hospitals have now been released. At press time, one victim remains in the hospital in stable condition.

“We continue to follow leads and are asking that anyone who was in the area of 4525 Glenwood Road around 3a.m. or who might have left the location prior to our arrival to please contact our homicide assault unit,” stated police.

At press time, police were searching for the shooter and/or shooters involved in the incident.
