Here are the top stories today in Decatur-Avondale Estates:
- DeKalb County government and local church organizations have come together to distribute 5,000 boxes of fruits, vegetables, eggs, chicken, and other foods and beverages. Ninety-nine percent of the food is grown in Georgia. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 24 at 9 a.m. at Shy Temple CME Church, 2030 Wesley Chapel Road, and the Big Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 3800 Big Miller Grove Way, both in Decatur. - The Decatur Waterworks has been a historic site since 2006. Two years later, construction on the trail began. The funding for the trail has come from the PATH Foundation and has now reached its completion.
