Jefferson County 4-H sent 3 middle and high school students off to 4-H camps in July. Junior 4-H’ers, James Martin, a rising ninth grader at Thomas Jefferson Academy, and Max Vaughn, a rising eigth grader at Jefferson County Middle School, traveled to Fortson 4-H Center in Hampton to enjoy camp activities which included a trip to watch fireworks at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and a day spent at Stone Mountain Park that concluded watching the Laser Show. Senior 4-H’er, Laura Faith Hayes, a rising sophomore at Thomas Jefferson Academy, camped at Rock Eagle and participated in team building activities that earned her team the special Shield winner award. It was her first ever trip to Rock Eagle and she was most excited about the opportunity to hold a snake.
