Todd Belcore, Executive Director of Social Change joined On Point with Juandolyn Stokes to invite listeners to the “Fresh Eats Beats Market” this Saturday, August 12 at 2139 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd at the Green Re-Entry Village in partnership with Iman to receive free fresh produce and backpacks for kids.
Belcore said, “Health disparities and food desserts are too often considered normal in our communities. Issues and access to resources are too often considered normal in our communities.”
Social Change is committed to addressing these disparities and making sure our issues are addressed in legislature, say Belcore.
In addition to addressing food disparities, mental health and midwives will also be addressed. Social Change also plans to tell our stories as part of “Changefest” Film Festival on Oct. 21 at the Central Library downtown.
Saturday’s event is “free, family-friendly, and it’s for everyone,” said Belcore.
