Tyson Blair was on the receiving end of a Robinson scoring pass-play for a touchdown as time expired in the contest.

Stewart was penalized with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

The ball was placed at the 1-yard line, and Robinson scored on a quarterback sneak play for the two-point conversion.

“Both teams fought hard until the end,” Chapel Hill first-year coach Shane Boston said. “I believe I was put into a great situation.”

This was the second time this season that Chapel Hill has defeated Stewart.

Boston spent two seasons coaching on offense at Chapel Hill High before moving over to the middle school.

The Wildcats won the regular season contest.

Stewart won the 2021 title with a win over Chapel Hill.

Last season, the Wildcats defeated Fairplay for the county title.

“This is a special win coming in my first year as coach,” Boston said. “This speaks volumes about the type of kids that we have at the school.”

Boston took over during the summer after two seasons at the high school.

“The kids have been working hard from June until November 1,” Boston said. “I felt the kids believed in what we were doing.”

Boston said he played several seventh graders during the championship season.

“We should be in good shape for next season,” he said. “The exciting part is that we played a lot of seventh graders, and they have championship game experience.”
