Nation-Best Four ACC Women’s Soccer Teams Ready for National Quarterfinals

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) –

 With the best winning percentage in the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament (12-1-1, .893), four Atlantic Coast Conference prepare for this weekend’s national quarterfinals.

Seventh-seeded Pitt hits the road to top-seeded Florida State on Friday, Nov. 24, as the teams will meet for the third time this season. The Seminoles took the previous two matchups this season and hold a 13-0 advantage over the Panthers in the all-time series. In the last meeting, FSU blanked Pitt 2-0 in the semifinals of the 2023 Ally ACC Women’s Soccer Championship on Nov. 2.

The Seminoles seek their fourth straight trip to the College Cup, while Pitt will play for its first trip to the College Cup in program history. Kickoff on ESPN+ is set for 5:30 p.m.

Third-seeded North Carolina heads to top-seeded BYU on Friday. The Tar Heels are coming off back-to-back 1-0 victories over sixth-seeded Alabama and second-seeded Texas Tech in the second and third rounds, respectively. Ally Sentnor, the 2023 ACC Midfielder of the Year, had a hand in both goals, scoring the game-winner against the Crimson Tide and added an assist against the Red Raiders. Kickoff from Provo, Utah, is scheduled for 8 p.m. on ESPN+.

Clemson seeks its first trip to the College Cup and will host second-seeded Penn State on Saturday, November 25. The Tigers advanced to their first national quarterfinal since 2020 in dramatic fashion, winning 5-3 in a penalty shootout over fourth-seeded Georgia. Clemson and PSU will kick off at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.

With the Florida State/Pitt matchup, the ACC will extend its streak to 19-straight appearances in the College Cup. Current membership has sent at least one team to every College Cup and won a total of 27 national championships, dating back to 1982….
