Lynn Marie Segars, 56, of Newnan, GA, passed away Friday, November 24th, 2023. Jimmy (husband of 40 years), Lynn, and their son, Jason relocated from College Park, GA to Newnan, GA in 1989.
It did not take Lynn very long to begin volunteering in her community. She started out as a Den Leader for Cub Scouts with her son Jason, volunteered to serve food for many years at the Moreland, GA Annual 4th of July Barbeque, chaperoned many East Coweta Marching Band events, and later in her life, volunteering with The Salvation Army where she completed over 250 bell ringing hours over 5 years, just to name a few.
To know Lynn Segars, was to love her. Over Lynn’s 56 years, she made many beloved friends as she never met a stranger. She found comfort and friendships while attending Moreland Methodist Church. Lynn was born to Robert and Barbara (Bringham) Smith on November 8th, 1967 in Atlanta, GA. She attended Riverdale High School and had a successful and rewarding career as a Business Account Representative with Sprint/T Mobile for over 22 years.
Lynn was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Bringham. She is survived by her husband of nearly 41 years, James (Jimmy) Segars, of Newnan, GA; Son, Jason and wife Ashley Segars of Newnan, GA; Grandsons, Braden and Noah Segars; Father and wife, Robert and Carolyn Smith of Breman, GA; Siblings, Larry and wife Senta of Madison, AL, Lorraine and husband Jim of Cumming, GA; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 2 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home 38 Jackson St. Newnan, GA with Rev. Jason Teal officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until service time.
