Youth Commissioners Serve as Delegates | News

A glance at some of the positions:

— Robert Reed-Taylor served as the Senate Committee 4 Chair.

— Makayla Hodges served as the Co-Chair for the Senate.

— Judah Whaley served as the Associate Justice.

— Emani Madison and Anaiah Allen served on the Media committee.

— Morgan Baxter and Jeremiah Janvier wrote bills for the Legislative Committee.

The Georgia Youth Assembly is a three-day learning opportunity for high school students to learn more about the Georgia state government.

Several Clayton Youth Commission members also received awards at the conference. Youth Commissioner Miatta Harris received “Best Orator” and Youth Commissioner Andy Pham was awarded “Associate Justice for the 2024 Youth Assembly Conference” after debating with students from across Georgia.

This annual conference is held at the State Capitol in Atlanta and is led by student-elected delegates.

“It is a wonderful feeling to have the Clayton County Youth Commissioners represent our county so well, said Nicole Horne, Office of Youth Services administrator. “Serving in roles throughout the conference is an amazing opportunity. This is the first time many of our students have had the honor to do this.”
