Visitors to Halidom Eatery will have an option for authentic cheesesteaks, hoagies and wings when Mad Dads Philly’s opens this spring at the upcoming East Atlanta food hall.
The concept from husband-and-wife team Tony and Pamela Sharpe is one of the recently announced tenants that will be joining the eatery. It will have similar offerings to the existing location of Mad Dads Philly’s in Buckhead, including the Blueberry Sriracha wings.
“It’s a growing signature,” Pamela Sharpe told What Now Atlanta of the distinct flavor.
The brand got connected with Halidom Eatery after being contacted on Instagram about opening at the food hall, something the Mad Dads Philly’s owners have always wanted to do.
“Our original goal was to start in a food hall,” she said. “We had such a difficult time trying to find a space. Everything was full, or it wasn’t a good location. I felt like it was synergy when they contacted us.”
A Philadelphia native, Tony Sharpe has decades of culinary experience, including graduating from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts-Atlanta in 2005 and competing on Food Network’s “Guy’s Grocery Games” in 2015.
Pamela Sharpe said they felt like opening in East Atlanta “would be a great opportunity to connect with the community over there.”
Mad Dads Philly’s offers a variety of cheesesteaks, including the popular North Philly Broad Street Special, and hoagies like the turkey-focused Penn Relay. The menu also includes several vegan and vegetarian options that have become top sellers, including the Garden Hoagie, a veggie-packed sandwich with Mad Dad’s All Purpose Seasoning.
“Those are options we want to have for our customers, that flexibility,” said Sharpe, who is vegan herself.
