Music legend Judy Collins shares new music and timeless classics at Buckhead Theatre – WABE

by Fulton Watch News Feed

Music legend, singer, songwriter, and activist Judy Collins has been swaying hearts since the 1960s with her original music and classic interpretations of songs like Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” and Stephen Sondheim’s “Send in the Clowns,” to name just two.

Now in her early 80s, Collins is more active than ever as a composer. Her 55th album “Spellbound” came out last year; it was first comprised entirely of original songs, and she’s jumped on the road once again to share new ideas and keep the music flowing.

Judy Collins performs at the Buckhead Theatre on Jan. 13. In this interview, the legendary musician joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to chat ahead of the show.

“When I would write the poem, I would finish it up and print it out, and then I would take it to the piano and see if it made the grade,” Collins said.

Singer-songwriter Judy Collins will perform “An Evening with Judy Collins” on Jan. 13 at the Buckhead Theatre. You can find out more about the upcoming show here.
