Clayton County Board of Education Extends Supplement To All Employees | News

The total cost of the distribution will be $7.8 million with $5.3 million coming from the state. The rest will be paid for from local funds.

“Like most school districts in Georgia, Clayton County employes eligible employees above the state formula to support appropriate instructional services for our students,” CCPS Chief Financial Officer Ramona Bivins said.

The School Board’s board vote came after a recommendation by Superintendent Anthony Smith.

“We are most appreciative of Gov. Kemp’s generous retention supplement,” Smith said. “Following an in-depth review of the state’s eligibility guidelines, we felt the need to provide a $1,000 payment to all active full-time employees and long-term substitute teachers. Additionally, the district will provide a $500 retention supplement to our part-time employees to acknowledge their dedication to our students, school system, and community.”

Bivins added that all employees active as of the date of the payment will receive a supplement.

Payments were expected to be Jan. 11.
