Newnan woman killed in interstate car crash | News

Troopers said a blue Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound in the left lane when the driver lost control of her vehicle and traveled off the east edge of the interstate.

The car traveled down an embankment and struck several trees with its front before rotating counterclockwise, overturning, and then coming to an uncontrolled final rest on its roof facing west, authorities said.

The driver, identified as Lakiesha Graves, 48, of Newnan, succumbed to her injuries on the scene. The next of kin was notified.

No one else was traveling inside the car with Graves and no other cars were involved in the crash, authorties said.

The right northbound lane on I-85 was closed for approximately two hours during the investigation.
