$20,000 Mega Millions ticket sold in Georgia

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – One lucky person in Georgia won $20,000 in a Mega Millions drawing on Friday.

The winning numbers were 1, 9, 16, 17 and 30 with a Mega Ball 17 and Megaplier 2X. The original prize was $10,000, but the winner also bought the Megaplier option, doubling the amount.

The estimated jackpot is now $236 million, with a cash option of $111.3 million, for next Tuesday’s drawing.

The last jackpot win was on Dec. 8 in California. Two tickets, both sold at the same Chevron in Los Angeles, shared the $394 million prize (or $188.6 million in cash).

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
