CCFR: House fire believed to have started in garage | News

The fire occurred just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21, and firefighters were called to a residence on Freestone Drive.

Upon their arrival, firefighters found a car inside the garage fully engulfed in flames and began a defensive attack on the fire.

Crews were able to get the fire under control and contained it primarily to the garage area, although the fire caused extensive damage to the home, according to Terrell.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, Terrell said. The fire marshal is currently investigating the incident, but Terrell said it does not appear to be suspicious.

The Red Cross was contacted and provided housing assistance to the family.

“We’re glad no one was hurt, and our crews did a great job in stopping (the fire),” Terrell said.
