The Roswell High School (RHS) varsity basketball teams split their doubleheader against the visiting Artesia High School on Tuesday night, with the Lady Coyotes falling 55-49 and the boys picking up a 52-42 victory at the RHS main gym.
The Lady Coyotes were 10-7 after losing against the Rio Rancho Lady Rams on Saturday, while Artesia sat at a comfortable 13-4 on the season. The Lady Coyotes started the night well, gaining a two-point advantage over their visitors in the first quarter, but the Lady Bulldogs overtook their host in the second quarter. Artesia senior guard Kymber Beltran scored 11 of her 15 points in the second, leading to the Bulldogs outscoring Roswell 18-5.
