There will be a viewing at Anderson Bethany Chapel on Tuesday January 30th, 2024, from 9:00 am – 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Anderson Bethany Chapel on January 31st, 2024, at 10:00 am with Pastor Joshua De Los Santos officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Jerry was born on July 18, 1968, to Simon Bermea and Hortencia Lopez Valles in San Antonio, Texas. At the age of 18 Jerry moved to Roswell, New Mexico where he attended Roswell Job Corp and received his certifications as a Nurse Technician. Jerry met the love of his life, Alma, in Roswell, and after only knowing each other for six short months, they got married and were one month shy of celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary. In the nearly 35 years of marriage, Jerry and Alma had three children and were blessed with four grandbabies. Jerry’s grandchildren were everything to him and he loved attending their sporting and dancing events. Jerry spent many years cheering on his two daughters as they played soccer. He always made sure to be their biggest fan and their greatest supporter. It brought Jerry great joy to see all four of his grandkids play soccer, and watch his oldest granddaughter do Folklorico dancing. After working 22 years for the State of New Mexico he retired from the Roswell Rehabilitation Center. Jerry was a ‘foodie’ who loved to try new foods and watching anything having to do with Korean or Asian culture.
