Atlanta area residents looking for occupations with high pay and excellent career opportunities live in one of the best areas in the nation to find such work, according to results of a recent study released by WalletHub, which found that STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—occupations offer exceptional career opportunities. Atlanta placed third in a ranking of 100 American cities compared for their STEM career opportunities, coming after top-ranked Austin, Texas, and second-ranked Seattle, Washington.

In addition, the median annual STEM wage is $97,980, compared to $44,670 for all non-STEM occupations.”
The report states that Atlanta has one of the highest median wages for STEM jobs at more than $105,000 per year, after adjusting for the cost of living.
