Fulton DA Subpoenaed In New Trump Hearing: Report

by Fulton Watch News Feed

ATLANTA — Days after the Georgia Senate voted to launch a probe into the actions of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, she and her top prosecutor have been called to testify in a hearing involving motions to remove them from an election subversion case.

Willis, who faces questions over her reported romantic involvement with prosecutor Nathan Wade, continues to be in the spotlight months after former U.S. President Donald Trump and 18 others were indicted in Fulton on several election interference charges that include racketeering.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday the law firm representing Trump co-defendant Michael Roman is suing Willis’ office, accusing staff of purposely not complying with the Open Records Act by withholding information sought through requests. The outlet reported Willis’ office said in a letter that it is complying with the Georgia law.

The Georgia Senate voted Friday to investigate Willis, and the Georgia House approved Monday an oversight bill that could take aim at Willis.

Trump was charged on suspicion of violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, three counts of solicitation of violation of oath by public officer, conspiracy to commit impersonating a public officer, two counts of first-degree conspiracy to commit forgery, two counts of conspiracy to commit false statements and writings, conspiracy to commit filing false documents, filing false documents and false statements and writings. He was released from the Fulton County Jail on a prearranged $200,000 bond.
