The Marietta Tree Keepers is seeking volunteers of all ages to help plant trees on Feb. 17 at the Marietta City Club Golf Course and Hilton Conference Center, 510 Powder Springs Street in Marietta.

Sign-in and refreshments will be at 9 a.m. and the planting will be 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Tools and refreshments provided. Donuts, hot chocolate and hot coffee provided. Volunteers should dress for outdoor weather and meet at the parking lot in front of the clubhouse to sign in. Volunteers can look for the white trailer attached to a truck in the parking lot.

The Transitioning Army & Spouse Virtual Career Fair will be Feb. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Over 20 companies will be offering employment opportunities and actively hiring veterans. As the unemployment rate among veterans remains higher than the national average, this event aims to bridge that gap by connecting qualified veterans with companies that value their skills.

Registration is free and available online to all transitioning military, veterans, military spouses and dependents.

The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 569 Frasier Street SE in Marietta, will host its annual Souper Bowl Sunday on Feb. 11.

Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Valerie Alexander will conduct the service at 11 a.m. Freddie Britt & Company will minister in music during the service. Participants can donate cans of soup to be distributed to recipients of the church’s food pantry. Soup, salad and all the fixings will follow the service.

The Kiwanis Lost Mountain Club will have a meeting on Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. where Cobb Elections Director Tate Fall will be the guest speaker.
