ROSWELL, Ga. — Police are investigating a car theft Jan. 31 after a Gravity Autos employee reported it stolen from the Shell gas station on Alpharetta Highway.

The victim, a 54-year-old Roswell man, said he brought a beige 2020 Lexus RX 350 to the station to fuel up before handing the vehicle over to its new owner.

When he returned from paying the clerk for gas, the employee said the vehicle was missing.

After reviewing security footage, officers said a man wearing a red sweatshirt approached the vehicle, entered and drove away southbound on Alpharetta Highway.

The employee said he refuels vehicles at the Shell gas station before sales and had left the keys in the car.

Officers said the vehicle was spotted on Flock cameras at Atlanta Street and Azalea Drive around 8 p.m. No other hits on Flock cameras were reported.

The owner of Gravity Autos told police that representatives with Lexus would contact the Roswell Police Department about tracking the vehicle.

Officers said the vehicle was entered into the Georgia Crime Information Center as stolen.
