Cumming Man Killed After SUV Hits Motorcycle

CUMMING, GA — A 23-year-old Cumming man on a motorcycle was killed in a crash Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Bethelview Road and Olde Town Lane, Forsyth County authorities said Friday.

Deputies responded to the crash around 2:45 p.m., when Peyton Kirby was driving a motorcycle south on Bethelview approaching Olde Town Lane at Aaron Sosebee Road, authorities said.

A 2022 Hyundia Genesis SUV was traveling north on Aaron Sosebee, failing to stop at the stop sign and proceeding into the intersection where it hit the motorcycle, authorities said. Kirby was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Potential charges are unknown, but authorities said failure to yield is likely the contributing factor of this crash. The case remains under investigation.
