WOODSTOCK, GA — Three cats died Sunday evening after a blaze sparked at a Brooksdale Drive home, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services said Monday.
Firefighters arrived around 6 p.m. to the southern Cherokee home to see flames burning the structure, fire officials said.
While hose lines were being deployed, firefighters conducted a search and rescue. It was determined no one was home at the fire; however, three cats died as a result of the fire, officials said.

After extinguishing the fire, crews worked to salvage belongings in the house, fire officials said.
Several family pets were safely removed from the house aside from the three cats, fire officials said. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
